CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY SAN MARCOS
SINGLE SUBJECT CREDENTIAL PROGRAM
I began the Single Subject Credential Program at CSU San Marcos in August 2014, and I will complete the program in May of this year (2015). Here you will find links to tasks, assignments, and experiences I have had throughout the course of this program - all of which have helped to develop me into the educator I am today!
CLINICAL PRACTICE (STUDENT TEACHING)
CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT PLAN
Below you will find the Classroom Management Plan I developed for my EDSS 511: Teaching and Learning in Secondary Schools course.
This management plan is based upon the five levels of the Self-Discipline Pyramid, created by Richard A. Villa, Jacqueline S. Thousand, and Ann I. Nevin in their 2010 book: Collaborating With Students in Instruction and Decision Making.
Please note that as effective teachers we are constantly learning, growing, and finding new ways to do what we do - better. Thus, this Classroom Management Plan will always be evolving as I find new strategies to encourage the success of all of my students.
INTEGRATED THEMATIC UNIT (ITU)
Below you will find a link to the Integrated Thematic Unit I created with my fellow teacher candidate Kelly Ferns (click HERE for her website!) for our EDSS 541: Secondary Interdisciplinary Methodology course. We combined our expertise in English and in Biology to develop a fun and engaging unit on diversity!
